Bhardwaj was addressing the special program on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2nd 2015.  The feeling of patriotism is very important for every citizen of a country. It is  the love for one’s own country. It’s a noble virtue that inspires one to sacrifice anything for the welfare of nation. India was able to attain freedom because of our great freedom fighters, who laid down their lives for freedom of the country, added
Bhardwaj.  In order to remember the sacrifices of our great freedom fighters, Father of the  nation Mahatma Gandhi and the former Prime Minister of India Lal Bahadur Shastri,  a special assembly was organised at G. D. Goenka Public school on 1ST October, 2015. The assembly commenced with the speeches of the students KASHISH TEWATIA and
MUDITA GARG who threw light on the exceptional lives of these two great souls.

The students were greatly influenced to know how these two freedom fighters struggled  and toiled hard to kick out the British from India. After the speech, the students of  classes III and IV presented a beautiful and energetic patriotic song “De di Hamen azadi bina khadag bina dhal.. .’ that depicted the history of India and legacy of greatness, noble life and sublime ideals of our young martyrs and freedom fighters. Another patriotic song ‘Bharat Desh Hamara, Tan Man is Par warenge..’ was also was presented by the students. A skit on the life of father of the nation was also
presented by the students.   Dr. Shreesh Bhardwaj, the principal of the school, enlightened the students and guided them about the importance of values, Non-violence and dignity of labour. He called upon the children to imbibe the value of simple living and high thinking told by Pandit Lal Bahadur Shastri. On this occasion Bhardwaj also narrated the incident of Mahatma Gandhi telling people to shell half of their meal of one time, which he said would be sufficient enough to satisfy the hunger of all the people of the country. The power of his personality reflected in the fact, said Bhardwaj, that most of the citizens of the country followed his call by shelling half of their meal. Overall, it was an enriching and fruitful assembly where the children came to know about the rich culture and the fight for freedom of our country.
