Faridabad, ‘Aapna Ghar’ prepared by the heritage of “35th International Surajkund Craft Mela” has become a center of attraction not only for tourists but also for foreign ambassadors and politicians for the promotion of Haryanvi folk culture.
Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture Meenakshi Lekhi reached ‘Aapna Ghar’ in Haryana along with the ambassadors of Latin countries. There everyone was welcomed in the traditional Haryanvi way. Everyone took a lot of selfies by tying Haryanvi turban. Along with this, the foreign ambassadors could not remain without being overwhelmed by the scene of the Chaupal in Haryana.

Everyone tried to prove that they were Haryanvi by taking photographs with Haryanvi hookah. Along with this, every ambassador was saying ‘Now I am Haryanavi’ to the Minister of State for Foreign Culture after tying the turban. On this occasion, everyone observed the old themes related to the folk cultural traditions of Haryana. He showed keen interest in seeing the history of Haryana for 500 years, the folk costumes of Haryana Ghaghar and Khara as well as the old tools of farming. Not only this, all the foreign ambassadors became convinced of the bateau glass of Haryana.
Everyone took many photographs with bateau glasses in their hands. Along with this everyone got to know the history of old utensils of Haryana. On this occasion, Dr. Mahasingh Poonia, in-charge of Virasat Heritage Village and ‘Aapna Ghar’, introduced the Minister of State for Foreign Culture and foreign ambassadors to the various dimensions of Haryanvi culture. On this occasion Dr. Maha singh Poonia and Additional Chief Secretary of Tourism Department M.D. Sinha honored the Foreign and Culture Minister by presenting him a memento of Sanjhi Mata on behalf of Virasat.
