The 45th EEPC INDIA Northern Region Award for Engineering Export Excellence organized by EEPC India recognized the contribution of Engineering companies from eight states in India
March 5, 2016: It was an award ceremony with a difference. EEPC India organised the 45th EEPC INDIA Northern Region Award for Engineering Export Excellence on Saturday, March 5, 2016 to honour and recognize the contributions that engineering companies from North Indian states—Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi—made through their innovation, teamwork, ingenuity and creativity. The premier event was graced by Chief Guest Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana Shri Manohar Lal Khattar; and Sh. Vipul Goel, MLA; Sh. Moolchand Sharma, MLA; Sh. Tekchand Sharma, MLA; Kamna Raj Aggarwalla, Regional Chairperson, EEPC INDIA (N.R.); Shri T.S.Bhasin, Chairman, EEPC INDIA; and Sh. Rakesh Suraj, Regional Director-EEPC; among others. EEPC also thanked Dr. Prashant Bhalla, President, Manav Rachna Educational Institutions (MREI) for lending support as Knowledge Partner of the event.
This year’s EEPC India’s Northern Region office organized its Award function to felicitate 100 meritorious exporters for their export performance in 2012-13 in various categories: in the Top Exporter of the Year 2012-13 category, the Gold trophy was bagged by Jindal Stainless Ltd, PME Power Solutions (India) Ltd, Gardex, Sledge Hammer Oil Tools Pvt Ltd, RITES Ltd; the Silver Trophy in the same Top Exporter category was won by Bharat Heavy electrical Ltd, H.R. International, Apex International, among others; the Special Trophy for Excellence in Exports of High-Technology Products went to A.S. T Pipes, among others; the Special Trophy for Excellence in Engineering Process was won by WAPCOS LTD; in the Star Performers in Product Groups for 2012-13 category, Steel Authority of India figured prominently apart from Good Luck Steel Tubes Ltd, Hindustan Tin Works, Shriram Pistons & Rings Ltd, Punjab Bevel Gears Ltd, Spirotech Heat Exchangers Pvt Ltd, Kangaro Industries Ltd, Hero Motors Ltd, Avon Cycles Ltd, among others. The Award for Special Contribution category was bagged by Sigma Corporation (India) Ltd, RACL Geartech Ltd, among others, while the Award for Maximum Participation in Council’s Promotional Activities 2012-13 went to Stoker Concast Pvt Ltd and S.S. Gas Lab Asia Pvt Ltd.
Speaking on the occasion, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana, Shri Manohar Lal Khattar said, “The quality of our engineering products has improved over the years and developed countries are now looking at India to source these products. The key programs of Start-up India, Skill India, Stand-Up launched by our Hon’ble PM are aimed towards making our country a pro-manufacturing nation. Haryana has started its new entrepreneurship policy where focus is on low costing, innovation, and incentives. A Single-window system is being implemented to give incentives to exporters in Haryana. EEPC is serving as the reference point for the Indian engineering industry and the international business community in its efforts towards establishing India as a major engineering hub in the future. Their facilitation of sourcing from India has boosted the SMEs to raise their standard at par with the international best practices.” Hon’ble Shri Manohar Lal Khattar congratulated the winners at the Award ceremony saying, “I am delighted to see your optimism and commitment of you all towards making India a global leader in engineering exports and wish you success in your future endeavours.”
Outlining EEPC India’s role, Shri T.S. Bhasin, Chairman, EEPC INDIA, in his keynote address said, “EEPC India has just completed 60 years starting with a hundred engineering units in 1955. Today it has grown to become the largest trade promotion organization in India with more than 12,000 engineering companies as its members—from large corporate houses to SMEs. The Awards are a true recognition of the immense potential of the Engineering companies in the northern region towards furthering the cause of exports in India.”
