In view of the spreading threat of Corona virus, all the districts of Haryana have been sent an advisory by the health department. The advisory, made by way of video conferencing by Prabhjot Singh, mission director of National Health Mission and head of health department haryana, underlined clear instructions to deal with the suspicious cases of corona virus. The advisory made it clear that any passenger arriving from china needs to be put under observation and his blood samples to be sent to Pune laboratory.
Prabhjot Singh said that there is no need to panic on the virus alert but in order to prevent the spread, safeguard is must. He informed that as far as the spread of virus in Haryana is concerned, it is totally under control till now. He said that a vigil has to be kept on any person coming from china. In case of any symptom being found in the person, civil surgeon or the directorate of health services has to be informed immediately. Also, the samples of the affected person need to be sent to Pune laboratory immediately. He said that the person, suspicious of being affected by the corona virus must be advised to keep away from mixing with public. It is advised that the affected person should neither shake hands with others, nor should travel. Singh said that as a preventive measure everyone should wash hands using warm water and soap.
Prabhjot Singh instructed the health department to maintain isolation wards in different hospitals and keep the affected person, if any, for 28 days in this isolation ward only. The patient of corona virus should be provided with mask kit. He informed that 19 airports of the country have been put on alert to identify any case suspicious of being affected with corona virus. A helpline number 01123978046 for information on corona virus alone is set up.
Educating the participants in the video conference, it was informed that the initial symptoms of corona virus are pain in throat, sneezing, cold, cough coupled with fever. In addition to the above continuous headache, running nose, severe cough, pain in chest and respiratory problems are also the symptoms of corona virus.
Also present in the video conferencing were CMO Doctor Savita and Deputy CMO Faridabad Ram Bhagat along with other officials.
