BJP to Lead NDA Meet Today; Markets Show Slight Improvement

BJP-led NDA secures a majority, INDIA bloc crosses 200; JD(U) and TDP pledge support for a third term of Modi government

After a prolonged electoral process, the Election Commission of India announced the results for all 543 Lok Sabha seats early this morning. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) fell short of an outright majority, necessitating reliance on its allies to form the next government.

The BJP secured a total of 240 seats, just shy of the 272 needed for a majority in the Lok Sabha. To consolidate power, the party has called a meeting of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) parties in New Delhi today. Adding the seats won by its allies, the NDA has achieved a comfortable majority.
